We embrace the value investment principles of Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett, Charles Munger, and Nick Sleep. Today, we primarily focus on publicly traded companies in Asia and North America. We aim to achieve superior returns by performing repetitive (quant) trading on underlying derivative instruments (contracts) of high quality companies which are both Good Samaritan companies and with substantial “economic moat”, great growth potential, and run by trust-worthy people. Investment Philosophy
We are business owners making incremental gains on trading underlying instruments of those businesses we are yet to own
- We do not shoot for a home-run.
- We focus on making returns by gaining 1 or 2 runs through quantitative iterative approach. If it happens to be a home-run, that’s gravy for us.
- In trading there is no need for us to bet on our horse would come first. However, we can still make money by betting on our horse neither finishes first nor it would finish last, we can still make 1 or 2% returns (80% of times). And, we repeat this with precision on core stocks we pick to trade on.
- Making 20% of gains by betting horse would not finish last has 80% chances of winning than betting on a horse to finish first having 80% gains on a trade has only 20% chances of winning.
- Market misprices stocks & contracts on a monthly, weekly, daily, hourly sometimes even minute by minute basis. We selectively pick & trade only on selective contracts which are mispriced. Underlying instruments for any given stock, we select about 10 ~ 20 horses from 10,000 horses (stocks).
